Norman Eichner

Thompson – Norman Christopher Eichner, 82, of Thompson, passed away peacefully at home on May 1, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. He was the devoted husband of Judith (Parry) Eichner. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Norman was the cherished son of the late Norman and Margaret (O’Reilly) Eichner.

Christopher dedicated his life to education and family. After earning his master’s degree in education, he enjoyed a rewarding career as a school Superintendent, Principal, and math teacher. Even after retiring, he continued to inspire young minds as a substitute teacher. His passion for education was evident in his involvement with the Thompson Board of Education, as well as the Knights of Columbus and Thompson Democratic Committee. He had a deep love for educating the youth in his community and spent many years as a Drivers Ed instructor.

Christopher found joy in tending to his gardens and growing fresh vegetables, a testament to his love for nature and nurturing spirit.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Judith Eichner of Thompson, CT; his son, Timothy Eichner of Thompson, CT; his daughter, Amy Alvis of Chesapeake, VA; his granddaughter, Natalie Eichner of Boulder, CO; and his grandsons, Owen Fleming and Barrette Fleming of Chesapeake/Virginia Beach, VA.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service in the Most Holy Trinity Church, 568 Pomfret St, Pomfret, CT 06258 at 10 am on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. Burial will be private.
