Catherine “Cathy” Muratore, a spirited and faith-filled woman whose passion for life touched everyone she met, passed away of natural causes on May 19, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on March 4, 1957, in Brooklyn, New York, Cathy was a lifelong resident of the borough that she adored. Her departure from this world occurred peacefully in the same beloved community where she had been born, surrounded by the warmth of memories that spanned a lifetime.

Cathy was a proud graduate of the Borough of Manhattan Community College, where she laid the foundation for her career. For many years, Cathy served as a dedicated Shared Admin Associate for the Internal Revenue Service, where she was not only respected for her professionalism but also cherished for her warmth and generosity of spirit. Her colleagues knew her as a woman who brought both dedication and joy to her work, creating an environment that many considered a second home.

Beyond her professional achievements, Cathy was an active member of her community, often found enjoying the convivial atmosphere of her local Pool Club. Her laughter was a familiar sound that resonated through the gatherings, and her competitive yet gracious nature made her a favorite among her peers. Cathy’s love for family was the cornerstone of her life. She was the heart of every family reunion, her presence a guarantee of lively conversation, heartfelt connections, and shared memories.

Cathy’s zest for life extended to her love for Macy’s, where she delighted in the simple pleasure of shopping, finding joy in the latest trends and sharing her finds with friends and family. She was known for her impeccable taste and the care she took in selecting gifts for her loved ones, each chosen with thoughtfulness and love.

The words “passionate,” “spirited,” and “faith-filled” only begin to describe Cathy. Her passion was evident in everything she did, from her work to her hobbies to her unwavering commitment to her family. Her spirit was indomitable, never failing to uplift those around her, and her faith was a guiding light that she shared generously, inspiring others to seek joy and meaning in their own lives.

Cathy is survived by a family that adored her: her devoted husband, Gary Muratore; her loving sons, Lance and Elliot Muratore; her caring brothers, Dennis and Joe Buccello. Each of these individuals, along with a host of friends and relatives, formed the rich tapestry of Cathy’s life—a life marked by deep bonds, shared laughter, and an abundance of love.

Cathy Muratore’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and an unwavering zest for life. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her, and her memory will be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends forever. As we bid farewell to Cathy, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit remains a guiding light—a beacon of the love and joy that she so freely gave to the world.
