Larry Joseph Palumbo, 70, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2024, at Meadowview Memory Care of Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Life services will be at a later date. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre will be assisting the family at this time.

Larry was born on April 21, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Mike and Marcella (Roushar) Palumbo. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School, class of 1972. Larry was united in marriage to Colleen O’Toole on July 12, 1975, in Cedar Rapids. They were later divorced. He worked at Quaker Oats for over 40 years until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, riding his motorcycle, bicycling, playing golf, having a cold beer, and most of all spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived by his daughter Lisa (Darin) Pierce and her children Madison (Riley) Ovenshire, Jackson Webber and McKenna Leehey; his son Ben (Amy) Janda and their children Mia and Jacob; his brothers Michael (Jennie) Palumbo, Doug (Denise) Palumbo and David Palumbo; his sisters Carol (Mike) Lackey and Mary Reddin; and his long-term companion Diane Igram; as well as his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Marcene Brooks, and brother-in-law Tom Reddin.

Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Rapids Metro Parkinson’s Association.
