Eleaza Gandy

The Gandy family Matriarch Eleaza was born October 9th, 1935, to the union of Oliver and Mary Gist in Detroit Michigan. Eleaza spent her early life in Michigan where she attended Detroit public schools and began her adult life leading up to meeting her beloved husband Samuel Gandy. Eleaza and Samuel had three children in Michigan before relocating to Akron, Ohio for new opportunities; where their youngest two children were born.
Eleaza was beloved and very active in the community where she often spent time volunteering and helping those less fortunate. She was a devote member of Saint Sebastian Parish where she volunteered in the school and served as a Eucharistic minister. In her career as a pharmacy technician at Summa Hospital she impacted the lives of many and gained life long friends.
Her Hobbies included baking, traveling and playing her favorite card game, Tunk. Eleaza’s delicious cakes, cookies and treats were highly anticipated at family events. She was an avid crafter and enjoyed creating keepsakes for her family. She had a love for animals and cared for many pets.
Eleaza had gentle and calming spirit that will be greatly missed.
Eleaza was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Gandy; daughter, Valerie Gandy and son, Gregory Gandy.
She leaves to cherish her memory children Leighton Gandy, Randy(Beth)Gandy and Selvyn Gandy, daughter-in-law Paula Gandy; Grandchildren Natasha, Robert, Danielle (Tom), LaKisha, Alecia (Anton), Samuel, Ramon and Shelby. Eight great- grandchildren. Special friends, Suansirhea, Sheila, Tiffany, Alicia and a host of family and friends.
