Eleanor “June” Dubishar
Westmont, IL
Eleanor “June” Dubishar passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024, in Westmont, IL surrounded by her loving family. Services will be private, and interment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
She was born April 7,1935, in Cross City, FL to Woodrow Hines and Josephine (Johnson) Hines. June was an avid reader and lover of technology, having worked as a computer operator in the early 1960s in Cedar Rapids. June furthered her career working on IBM technology for the family business, Hawkeye Seed Company.
Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. She moved to Glen Ellyn, IL to be closer to them attending plays, concerts, and soccer games; never missing an opportunity to cheer them on. She also hosted daily lunches for her grandkids and their friends in high school at her condominium across the street from school. In addition to her grandchildren, June was passionate about the Iowa Hawkeyes, watching every game and cheering them on in victory and defeat.
Over the course of her life in Georgia, Iowa and Illinois, June made friends easily and built relationships based on her interest in the lives of others.
June is survived by her children, Diane (Mike Musser) Dubishar, Lisa (Mike Lane) Lane and 6 grandchildren: Britnee (Musser) Klicic, Melissa Musser, Charlie Musser, Paige Lane, Julia Lane and Samantha Lane.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Louis Dubishar; her parents; and her brother Charles Marvin Hines.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital in her memory.
