Gaynell A. Hannah peacefully passed away on November 08, 2024, in her home in Cleveland, Ohio. Gaynell was born to Pauline and Oneal Hoston in Besoco, West Virginia. After high school, Gaynell went on to become a loving wife and mother.

In 1955, Gaynell married Charles Hannah, in Cleveland, Ohio and they were blessed to have three children whom they raised in the Collinwood neighborhood in Cleveland, Ohio. She worked as an elevator operator and in retail. Gaynell loved interacting with people and with the public. She was a huge Cleveland Browns and LeBron James fan. She especially loved having her family over for holidays and cookouts at her home. And, she was truly the life of the party.

Gaynell retired in 1996 and spent her time traveling, going to the casino, and watching her great grand children.

Gaynell was predeceased by her mother, Pauline, her father, Oneal, and her eldest daughter, Paulette. She is survived by her ex-spouse, Charles (Barbara) Hannah, her daughters, Charlene (Damon) Barnes, and Rita Hannah, her brother, Rudolph (Maria) Hoston, 8 grandchildren, Michael Hoston (Rhonda), Angelia Shelton (Dale), Damita (Amon) Graham, Damon (Natalie) Barnes III, Tiffany Hannah, Charles (Shaniya) Barnes, Christopher Hannah (Tiara), and Chaz Barnes, 20 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, devoted family friend, Frances Austin, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in law, and friends.

Gaynell was a beloved soul who touched many lives.

The family will host a Private Family Memorial in Gaynell’s honor at Lakeview Cemetery on December 14, 2024.
