Beverly Ann (Swenson) Rohwedder, age 90, peacefully went home to be with her Lord on September 23, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 3, 1934, to Michael and Eva (Easterly) Swenson, Beverly caught the attention of a charming farm boy with a new convertible, and they wed at the “Little Brown Church”. Together, they celebrated 74 wonderful years until Alan’s passing last year. Beverly was a devoted family woman who found joy in many passions. She loved combining corn and briefly pursued a career with AVON. Her baking became a small business, where in the early ’90s, she used over 2,200 pounds of flour to create rye bread, angel food cakes, and sticky buns, which she sold throughout the county. In the late ’60s, Beverly and Alan purchased a “Dreamer” camper from Johnny Ketelsen, forging many lifelong friendships through their many camper gatherings. The Jones County Fair was an annual tradition for them since their youth, where they created lasting memories, including winning a trip to Europe. They also enjoyed countless adventures on their Honda Goldwings, with memorable trips to Alaska. Church played a significant role in Beverly’s life. She would be found volunteering and serving at nearly every function. As a fundraiser for the church she sold rugs at farmers markets and became known as the “rug lady”. Beverly’s address book with all of her friends’ and families’ birthdays was one of her prized possessions. She would faithfully send you a card with a handwritten letter every year on your birthday and anniversary. She was an avid letter writer, often sending Alan to town with letters she’d penned that same afternoon. Beverly will be deeply missed by her children, Ned and Cindy, Rex and Pat, and Polly and Jack, as well as her nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-granddaughters.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on October 4, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM on October 5 at Dawson Funeral Home in Olin. A luncheon will take place at the Olin Legion after the funeral, with a private family burial to follow.
