Sheila Pauly, 90, of Hiawatha, passed away Monday, September 16, 2024, at Harmony Cedar Rapids. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include her children; Kevin (Darcy), Peter (Tanja), Suzette, and Scott, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Donald Palmer, two sisters, Dorothy Fay and Ruth McDonald.

Sheila (Palmer) Pauly was born July 15, 1934 in Dubuque, Iowa to Clyde and Esther (Newkirk) Palmer. Sheila married Peter Pauly on July 23, 1955, he preceded her in death on July 7, 2006. Sheila had several jobs with Collins Avionics, the Cedar Rapids Schools, and the State of Iowa. Sheila enjoyed puzzles, playing bridge, reading, working daily crossword puzzles but especially socializing with neighbors and friends. She also loved to follow the Chicago Cubs and the Iowa Hawkeyes, especially the women’s basketball teams. Sheila will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Sheila’s family wishes to extend a special thank-you to the nurses and staff at the Mercy Medical Stroke floor and to the nurses and staff at Harmony in Cedar Rapids, in addition to all the friends who visited during her stay.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family.
