Marlene A. George

Marlene A. George 70, of Jacksonville, died at 9:31 am, Monday, August 16, 2021 at Passavant Hospital. She was born May 12, 1951 in Springfield, to Carl Leroy and Mary Elizabeth Hington Gillock. She married Billy Wayne George on May 1, 1971 and he preceded her death on January 21, 1974.

Survivors include one daughter, Stephanie (Richard) Hellmeyer of Jacksonville; four grandchildren, Lindsey Marie (Joseph) Petefish, Kaitlynn (Steven Waid) Cole, Grace Ann Hellmeyer and Fynn Hellmeyer; five great grandchildren, Jesse, Parker & Wyatt Petefish and Dakoda and Cori Cole; two sisters, Patricia (Michael) Catalano of Springfield and Barbara (Jim) Tucker of Buffalo Hart, IL and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and one brother Butch Gillock

She retired as a clerk from Ameritech and was a CWA Union member.

Marlene was of the Catholic faith.

A Graveside Service for immediate family only will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will be held at her home on Saturday August 28, 2021 starting at 1:00 pm.
