Dylan Woods, 27, loving son, brother, and friend, passed away at home on Saturday, August 31, 2024, in Mount Vernon, Iowa. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon. Service will begin at noon. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at the Solon American Legion Hall, Solon, Iowa.
Dylan was born November 28, 1996, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son to James Woods and Angela Downs. He graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 2014.
Everybody knew that Dylan was into rodeos and bull fighting. He was a member of the Sandburr Rodeo Productions. He loved being in the water swimming or fishing. He also loved bonfires, fireworks, horseback riding, and watching old westerns.
Dylan loved his siblings and family. He would always beat up on his siblings. He wrestled, fought, rough housed, played rodeo, and gave nicknames to all his siblings.
Dylan loved to help people. He would help younger kids learn how to ride bulls and get into rodeo. He helped his dad with auctions and worked on the farm. He was always willing to help.
Dylan is survived by his father, James Woods; mother, Angie (Jeff) Downs; siblings, Lisa (TJ Julich) Carte, Kyle (Mckenzie Hagert) Woods, Alena (Julion Falco) Brunius, Calen Downs, and Cameron Downs; nieces and nephews, Thomas Carte, James Carte, Emerson Hagert, and Paisley Clark; special little sisters, Kaylynn Novak and Kenzie Martin; dog, Cat; and many loving friends and family members.
Dylan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Geraldine (Vernon) McCraney and “Gammi” Kay (Robert) Woods.
