Dennis “Denny” Alan Lemcke, 77, of Coralville, Iowa, formerly of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Windmill Manor in Coralville. A Graveside Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.
Denny was born on September 12, 1946, in Oelwein, Iowa, the son of Earl and Deloris (Cole) Lemcke. He was a graduate of Oelwein High School and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Denny was united in marriage to Jennifer Jean Oppedahl in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He enjoyed card games with family, solitaire on the computer, horseshoes in the backyard, playing billiards, golfing, listening to Conway Twitty on an 8 track, and attending the NHRA races. He was a phenomenal bowler. Denny will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Lemcke; two sons, Mark Oppedahl and Stephen (Emily) Oppedahl; grandchildren, Abbie, Dylan, and Samuel Oppedahl; brother, David (Estella) Lemcke, Gary (Linda) Woodward, and Steven (Maureen) Woodward; and a niece, Ann Redies.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Deloris Woodward; father, Earl Lemcke; sister, Judith Woods; and stepfather, Delbert Woodward.
