Audrey Marie Beuter was born July 8, 1931, in Solon, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Beatrice (Scott) Beuter. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, she attended Solon schools, and this is where she met and later married James E. “Jim” Bartlett on October 26, 1948. Audrey and Jim would begin their 71 years of life together on their farm, where she was the epitome of the farmwife. They farmed the land, raised their family, and supported their community and church. In Jim’s obituary it was said farming, flying, faith and family was his life with family being the most important, the same can be said for Audrey except she didn’t need the flying like Jim! She was there for her children, and as grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along, she was even more willing to do whatever was needed. She helped with getting them to and from appointments, activities, practices and school. Audrey was always in attendance at their events and special occasions. Being a lifetime resident of this area, she knew everyone, this made it only logical for the Brosh Funeral Home and later Gay & Ciha Funeral Home to ask her to assist with the families of this area as they were cared for by the funeral home. She enjoyed working with the families they served. Audrey was an amazing baker, her sugar cookies, kolaches, and red velvet birthday cakes were her family’s favorites.

Her family includes their children, Jeanne Hanes (Joe), Dan Bartlett (Diana), Sherri Bartlett, and Sara Kurt (Steve); 9 grandchildren, Steve Hanes (Cynthia), Mike Hanes (Karen), Jessica Milliman (Steve), Rebecca Bartlett, Andy Bartlett (Trisha), Seth Bartlett (Joanna), Sara Rose Studt (Bob), Mitch Olson (Brittany), Emily Burich (Jay); and 31 great-grandchildren, Collin, Dean, John, Shay, Alan, Vanessa, Isaac, Maria, Joshua, Cody, Grant, Doug, Jackson, Betty, Wyatt, Caleb, Emmett, Lucy Belle, Jeremiah, Eva, Anna, Selah, Charlie, Henry, Jacob, Liam, Aiden, Lola, Octavia, Reese and Danica.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Ben Beuter; husband, Jim; son, Mike; twin sons, James and John and grandson, Bill.
