Obituary: Jeanne Stevens Denison
- June 28, 2024
March 25, 1949 – June 25, 2024
Jeanne Stevens Denison, age 75, unexpectedly went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 25, 2024. Jeanne was born in Fallon, Nevada to Glen and Wilma Stevens. She grew up in Carson City and graduated from Carson High School in 1967. Like her father before her, she dedicated her professional career to the State of Nevada.
She was known for her unique personality, enriched with many tales of her life experiences and growing up in Carson City. Filled with wit, sarcasm, and a keen intellect, she was always ready for a cup of coffee, a good book or a conversation with loved ones and friends.
Growing up a Presbyterian and then experiencing life as a Buddhist for much her adult life, at the age of 59 the Holy Spirit led her to become a devout member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she played a significant role in the music ministry. Jeanne’s faith and musical talents were at the center of her later life. Performing with other musicians within the church and teaching piano lessons to many brought her great joy.
Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Heather (Delbert) Bugg, grandchildren, Austin (Rachel) Stone, Circe Fae, John Bugg, and great grandson, Ezra Dynes. She was preceded in death by her son Steven G. Mandeville and her husband John D. Denison.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 11: 00 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1837 Mountain Street, Carson City, NV 89703 with reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church and School for Music Ministry, honoring Jeanne’s lifelong passion for music and dedication to her church.
