Winifred J. Kindig, resident of Sylvania, OH, passed away on June 12, 2024 at age 78, after a long battle with cancer. Beloved wife of 39 years to Bill Kindig. Adored mother of Scott (Tammy) Maring and Carrie (John) Guenther, as well as her stepchildren, Jennifer (Bob) Clemens, Jason Kindig, and Brian Kindig. Treasured grandmother of Matthew and Christopher Maring, Gideon Guenther, John and Josh Clemens, Mia and Dominic Kindig. Sister of Wayne (Robin) Carpenter.
Winifred is preceded in death by her parents, Winton Carpenter and Harriett Fisher; grandson, Gideon; and siblings Winnett (Larry) Moine and Winton Carpenter II.
Winifred spent her life dedicating her time and faith in Jesus Christ. Although her battle was long, she is now at peace and completely healed in heaven, where her family knows they will see her again.
Winifred loved reading, having a collection of more than 1,000 books. She enjoyed gardening and particularly loved geraniums, hostas and roses. Winifred lead several women’s bible study groups at her church in Toledo and CWC in Cedar Rapids, IA. She also spent time weaving baskets, making flower arrangements and sewing. Winifred is loved dearly by her family and she will be missed.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a memorial service the following day, Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Church of the Nazarene at 4930 Flanders Rd, Toledo, OH 43623.
Winifred will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in Nashua, IA.
