Gaile E. Rainwater

Gaile E. Rainwater, 87 of Buffalo, died at 5:26 am, Monday, May 24, 2021 at his home. He was born December 4, 1933 in Mt Vernon, IL, to Earl and Lucille Reese Rainwater. He married Clara Fry in 1952 and she preceded him in death on August 17, 2001.

Survivors include two daughters, Anita, granddaughter, Emily and Great Grandson, Jaxson Ray and Sheila (Pat), granddaughters, Stacey, Brooke, Samantha and several great grandchildren; son, Edward (Brenda), granddaughter, Brittany and grandson, Cory and great grandchildren; one brother, Lowell Rainwater; one sister, Wanda Hill and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one grandson, David Matthew Rainwater.

Gaile was a US Army veteran serving from 1956 – 1962. He was a Production Worker for Caterpillar for thirty years, retiring in 1989.

Graveside Service: Private graveside services will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Pastor Clint Cook officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Sangamon County Inter-Veteran’s Burial Detail and the US Army.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
