Cheryl Ruth Ipema

Cheryl Ruth Ipema, age 68 of Hinckley, IL passed away at her home suddenly after a brief illness, on Monday, January 22, 2024. A daughter of Henry and Charlotte (Van Bruggen) Ipema, Sr., she was born on December 20, 1955 and raised in Palos Heights, IL 

Cheryl was employed by Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL as the Director of Quality, Safety & Regulatory Affairs. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, and cousin.  Cheryl was an accomplished equestrian, life-long animal lover, gifted gardener and cook, and enthusiastic traveler.  She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

Cheryl is survived by her children, Natalie (Jack Taylor) Araujo of Melbourne, Australia, Clara (Arthur Wang) Araujo of New Orleans, LA, and John (Breanne Barbanente) Bender, II of Somonauk, IL; her grandchildren, Eli Taylor, Jaxon Bender, and Brantley Bender; her siblings, Amy (Marvin) Werkman of Crestwood, IL; Henry (Tamila) Ipema Jr. of FL;  also several aunts, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life for Cheryl will be held at a later date.
