Mark Dean Sutton, 64, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at his home. A visitation will be held from 4 – 8 p.m. on Monday, January 29, 2024, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date at St. John’s Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

Mark was born May 11, 1959, in Michigan, the son of LeRoy and Polly (Creech) Sutton. In 1972, he graduated from high school in Sioux City, Iowa. Mark was united in marriage to Marilyn Geiger in 1987. He worked for 40 years as a union electrician, starting at Local 1 in Sioux City and later moving to Cedar Rapids where he joined IBEW Local 405. Mark was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners, and Eagles Club.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Sutton of Cedar Rapids; children, Jennifer Sutton of Akron, Ohio, and Crystal (Ryan) Hazen of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Alita and Lydia; mother, Polly Sutton of Missouri; and his beloved dog, Duke of Windsor.

He was preceded in death by his son, Corey Dean Sutton; sister, Sally Draper; and father, LeRoy Sutton.
