Raymond Anthony Esquibel
- April 21, 2021
Raymond A. Esquibel, longtime resident of Palatine, passed away on April 11, 2021 at the age of 64. Ray was born in Chicago on June 21, 1956, the oldest child of Joseph F. and Catherine Esquibel, who preceded him in death, along with his sister, Patricia (Schmidt). He was an avid music lover, and learned to play guitar at a young age with the help of the Wilkins School of Music in Mt. Prospect, the village where he spent his childhood, and his early married life with his loving wife of 38 years, Barbara. They later moved to Palatine where they raised their two children. He was active in the Chicago music scene in the late seventies and eighties with his WiseGuy bandmates. Always curious about technology, Ray spent his career in IT/Systems management. His sharp wit and sense of humor brought laughter and happiness to all who knew him. He most loved being a dad and family man, and relished the planning of many memorable family vacations. He was so loved by his family and friends, who will greatly miss him.
Survivors include his wife Barbara (Suda), and his two beloved children, Charles and Katherine, his dear daughter-in-law, Angie, and grandson, Joseph. He leaves behind cherished sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, treasured nieces and nephews, aunts and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Mercy Home for Boys and Girls at www.mercyhome.org or Maryville Academy at www.maryvilleacademy.org
