Diane K. Griffith, 71, of Mechanicsville passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023, at home with her family by her side.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 22, 2023, at Dawson Funeral Services in Olin. Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23 at Dawson Funeral Services in Olin. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Mechanicsville.

Diane Kay was born on Nov. 28, 1952, in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Paul and Jennie (Harding) Johnson. She graduated from Maquoketa High School in 1971. On May 31, 1975 she married the love of her life, Donald D. Griffith, at the United Methodist Church of Maquoketa. Diane was a member of the Mechanicsville Ladies Auxiliary and the Rescue Mission in Las Vegas. Diane always had the biggest heart and volunteered with many community projects and was a foster parent to many children over the years. She was presented with many awards including Foster Parent of the Year and Military Mother of the Year. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with her dad and playing Euchre. She also liked to go skating and swimming. Her greatest blessing in life was her family, whom she was so proud of and cherished every moment she spent with them. Her life was her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of over 48 years, Donald; three children, Paul, Mandy and Jayme Griffith, all of Mechanicsville; 10 grandchildren, Tiea, Tori, Gaby (Matt), Drea, Jaycob, Savannah, Cory Jr., Donovan, Mercedes; three bonus grandchildren, Jordan, Jasmine and Jaylin; several great- grandchildren with two on the way; a daughter-in-law, Stacy Griffith; and Diane’s furry companions Bo and Bella.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Robert Johnson; and three children, Donald Jr., Noel and Amy.
