Barbara Ellen Kline, 72, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2023, in her home surrounded by family. No services are planned at this time. Teahen Funeral Home is caring for Barbara and her family.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 33 years, Charles Kline; three children, Jill (Mike) Mathews, Amy (Steve) Burke and Travis Mulnix; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild, all of Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Dena Clark, Carolyn Merfeld and Joe Cheatham.

Barbara Ellen Cheatham was born on July 28, 1951, daughter of Clifford and Virginia Marie (Ferguson) Cheatham of Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Kirkwood College and received her Bachelors of Science in her adult years. Barbara was united in marriage to Charles Kline on Jan. 19, 1990. She was self-employed as an interior decorator.

Barbara was very strong-willed with a heart of gold. She had a strong affection for animals of all types, especially babies and caring for her numerous pets as well. Enjoyed going fishing with her father and being outdoors. She loved flowers of all types, especially sunflowers. She enjoyed going out for margaritas, but most of all loved spending time with her family that meant the world to her. She is deeply loved by all.
