Sue Ellen Karsten, 85, died at home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. Sue was born on September 9, 1938 in Chicago, Cook County, IL to Arthur and Eleanor (Cruice) Haug.

In the past years she was employed at Admiral Corp., Hevi-Duty, Wal-Mart, and Schnucks. Sue enjoyed bowling, she was a fabulous sewer and excellent knitter, loved planting flowers and vegetables, feeding the birds, spending time on Lake Gevena fishing, and enjoyed watching current and past neighbors.

On June 27, 1981 Sue united in marriage with Frederick C. Karsten at the Williams Bay Lutheran Church.

Sue is survived by her two daughters, Marilyn (William) Larson, Darien and Debbie (Mark) Furlano, Janesville. She is also survived by her grandchildren Molly (Mike) Forstrom, Darien, Tiffany (Kevin) Schutt, Darien, Zachary Larson (Maureen Cummings) fiancée, Denver CO, Ashley (Daniel) Lawrence, Poplar Grove IL. Five great-grandchildren: Della, Emma, Eleanor Schutt, and Michael and Gavin Lawrence. She is also survived by her brother Patrick (Olga) Haug from San Antionio Texas. Most of all her cats, Bob and Kay-lee will miss her, too.

Preceded in death her husband, Fred Karsten, as well as her for former husband, Nathan Niles, parents and grandparents.

Visitation will be held on October 19, 2023 at Toynton’s Walworth Funeral Home from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. and again on Friday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m.  Burial will follow at East Delavan Cemetery.
