Scott Jay Smith

Scott Jay Smith, age 71 of Apache Junction, AZ formerly of Yorkville, IL passed away on July 15, 2023 in Arizona.  He was born on April 15, 1952 the son of Lloyd  and Doris (Weimer) Smith.

Mr. Smith was employed for many years as a union carpenter and concrete business owner.  Scott enjoyed spending his winters in his motorhome in Arizona.  He was also an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle rider. Scott was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Bryant Smith of Yorkville, IL, and Ashley (Jeremy) Mendola of Lockport, IL; his grandchildren, Carden and Kai Mendola; his sister, Susan (Richard) Meyers of Grayslake, IL; as well as his nieces and nephews.

Scott was preceded by his parents, Lloyd and Doris Smith.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL.  Interment will take place at a later date.

Friends may visit from 12:00 PM until the Hour of Service on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at the Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.
