Dale L. Butts

Dale L. Butts, age 80, of Apple River, IL formerly of Yorkville, IL passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Lena Living Center in Lena, IL. He was born on August 9, 1942 the son of Cloyd and Barbara (Madsen) Butts.

Dale was united in marriage on August 17, 1962, to the former Carolyn Strausberger and they spent the next 49 years happily married until her passing on September 2, 2011.  He was employed for many years as a business owner in the agricultural industry. Mr. Butts was a long-time member of the Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL. Dale was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Karen (Robert) Lukowski of Battle Creek, MI, and Duane (Jill Dopart) Butts of Yorkville, IL; his beloved companion, Sandra Miller of Apple River, IL; his grandchildren, Sarah (Jay Stotsky) Lukowski, Jessica (Benjamin Kleykamp) Lukowski, Christopher (Lauren) Lukowski, and David and Derek Butts; his sister, Denise (Michael) Rogers of DeKalb, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded by his parents, Cloyd and Barbara Butts; his wife, Carolyn Butts; and his sister, Donna Maecker.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 2, 2023  at Cross Lutheran Church, 8609 State Route 47, Yorkville, IL. Interment will be held in Cross Lutheran Cemetery, Yorkville, IL.

Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL.
