Daniel T. Homerding

Daniel T. Homerding, age 74, of Oswego, IL passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born on April 5, 1949 in Joliet, IL the son of Raymond and Agnes (Lambert) Homerding.

Daniel was united in marriage on August 15, 1981 to the former Lynn Schieve and they spent the next 41 years happily married. He was employed for over 40 years by the Citgo Refinery in Lemont, IL until his retirement. Daniel also farmed for many years in the Plainfield area. He loved watching his grandchildren play volleyball. Daniel also enjoyed playing sports, especially volleyball and skiing.  He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Daniel also enjoyed get-togethers with his family and his friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn Homerding of Oswego, IL; his daughter, Melissa (Matt) Chesney of Yorkville, IL; his son, Brian (Ying Li) Homerding of Chicago, IL; his grandchildren, Cole and Kendyl Chesney; his sister, Sharon Homerding of Shorewood, IL; his brothers, David (Sharon) Homerding of Newark, IL and Ron (Nancy) Homerding of Forrest, IL; his sister-in-law, Mary Schieve of Naperville, IL ; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Agnes Homerding; and his brothers-in-law, Frank Gersich and Dean Schieve.

Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, July 21, 2023 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 N. Bridge St., Yorkville, IL. Interment will be private.

Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until the Hour of Service on Friday, July 21, 2023 at the Nelson Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.
