Roger Allan Flink, 77, at rest on June 20, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital, after a long battle with multiple health issues. Beloved husband of Marian Flink; loving father of Donna (Don) Thomas, Deborah (Don) Williams, Aaron (Kelli) Bloom and A.J. (Leslie) Bloom; cherished grandfather of Kendra and Jenna Hendrickson, Samantha Thomas, Shauna and Terrence Williams, Alison and Emily Bloom, Brody and Ella Bloom; dear brother of Dan (Beverly) and Doug (Margie) Flink and Sue (Dennis) Zumwalt; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 25, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, June 26, at First Presbyterian Church of Marion, with Pastors Jim Langley and Nancy Redman officiating.

Roger was born Aug. 27, 1945, in Carroll, Iowa to V. John and Anna Flink. He loved his career in real estate both as a manager and broker associate, retiring from Skogman Realty. Roger achieved the Realtor Emeritus status from the National Association of Realtors. His personal passion was helping children. He was co-founder (2007) and board member of the non-profit Marion Cares. He served many years as a coach and president of Metro Youth Football, was president and board member of Foundation 2, enjoyed his work with Variety Club and was a member of the Marion-East Cedar Rapids Rotary. His faith was always important to him. He served as an elder and deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Marion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Claude and Emily Drahota; brother, Ron Flink; grandsons, Christian and Dylan Thomas; and brothers-in-law, Mike Lynch, Bill Drahota and John Gates.

Roger’s family would like to thank the exceptional care given to him by the 6th floor staff at St. Luke’s Hospital and UnityPoint Hospice.
