Judy Kay Thompson

Judy Kay Thompson, 70, beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, of Glen Rose, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023, in Fort Worth.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4 P.M., Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the Wiley Funeral Home, 504 Holden St., in Glen Rose.   She will be laid to rest next to her husband of 34 years at Nancy Smith Cemetery.

Judy was born on October 20, 1952, in Cleburne, Texas, to the late Joe Gordon and Loretta Whitworth.  On April 27, 1973, Judy married Charles Danny Thompson and together had 2 daughters, Candy & Wendy.  She will be remembered for her sense of humor – especially for her sarcasm!  Judy was an elementary school teacher in the Glen Rose School System for 35 years.  She was a ‘collector of everything.’  Judy enjoyed traveling with her family – particularly to the beach.  She was a devout Christian. Most of all, for Judy her family was “everything.”

Judy is survived by her daughters, Candy Renee and husband Doug McClure and Wendy Beth and husband Stephen Homrighaus; her grandchildren, Taylor, Trayle, Trinity, Conner, Corbin, Caysen, and Cadee; by her sister, Sharon Whitworth; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Danny Thompson in 2007; and by her sister, Vicky Whitworth.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Judy’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury.
