William R. Detert
William R. Detert 78, of Springfield, died at 1:52 pm, Sunday, April 9, 2023 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital. He was born September 2, 1944 in Higginsville, MO to Vernon and Dorothy Heidbreider Detert. He married Carol A. Sampson on August 19, 1966 and she survives.
Also surviving are five beloved nieces and one beloved nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
William attended United Church of Christ.
He graduated from St. Louis College of Pharmacy and continued his education at Purdue University with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Pharmacy. He retired from HSHS St. John’s Hospital Pharmacy after 34 years of service.
He enjoyed international travel; reading and was extremely interested in Napoleonic History.
Visitation: 5-7 pm, Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Burial will be at Salem Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.
