Hilda L. Mangiaracina

Hilda L. Mangiaracina, 84, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born July 16, 1938, in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of Lawrence M. and Reathel (Holt) Eckman. She married George A. Mangiaracina on December 30, 1961 and he preceded her in death August 3, 1995.

She is also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lawrence and Raymond Eckman.

Survivors include two daughters, Catherine (Michael) Lawson of Chatham and Denise Mangiaracina of Springfield; son, Anthony “Tony” (Renee) Mangiaracina of Springfield; nine grandchildren: Nicole (Ryan) Subick, Anthony Mangiaracina, Mark Mangiaracina, Michael (Erica) Gaffney, Justin Lawson, Joshua Lawson, Jess (Aaron) Lawson, Jordan Lawson, and Elijah Webb-Lawson; nine great-grandchildren: Jonathan, Chase, Tristan, Elizabeth, Sarah, Jojo, Rosie, Brooklynn, and Cameron; and several nieces and nephews.

Hilda graduated from Madisonville High School in Kentucky. She was a resident of Springfield since the late 1950s and was a member of Cherry Hills Church. She was a Republican Precinct Committeeperson for the Republican Party. She worked as a laboratory technician for St. John’s Hospital for many years, retiring in 1998.

Hilda enjoyed spending time doing anything crafty, including crocheting, scrapbooking, and sewing.  She was very active in her beloved neighborhood of Southern View.

Visitation: 4 – 7 pm, Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Graveside Service: 10 am, Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Calvary Cemetery with Pastor Chad Reeser officiating.
