David William Gerber, 89, of Marion, Iowa, died March 8, 2023, at Hiawatha Care Center.

David was born on Aug. 25, 1933, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Clarence and Ella (Krahling) Gerber. He married Joan Beretta on Sept. 19, 1953. He served with the U.S. Army in Korea from 1953-55. David was employed by Iowa Electric Light and Power for 35 years, retiring in 1992. David was a member at First Presbyterian Church in Marion. He enjoyed antique cars and tractors.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Joan; a son, Gary (Lyn) Gerber of Timbo, Ark.; daughter, Connie (Kent) Shellady of Missouri; three grandsons, Daniel Gerber, Logan Gerber and Colby Gerber; and seven great-grandchildren.
