Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, at the church. Entrusted with the arrangements is Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Cameron is survived by his mother, Nazee Sullenberger; a sister, Rosanna Haddock, both of Texas; half-siblings, Cheryl Baumgardner, Fred Sullenberger and Russell Sullenberger; Steven Craig, his partner of 17 years; a huge circle of uncles, aunts and cousins; and a larger extended loving family of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Sullenberger of El Paso, Texas; brother-in-law, Frederick Haddock of El Paso; and his grandparents in Iran and Texas.

Cameron was born Jan. 9, 1969, in Tehran, Iran, the son of Fred and Nazee (Aslanian) Sullenberger. He was raised in El Paso, Texas, and attended Dowell Elementary, Terrace Hills Middle School, Andress High School, and NE Christian Academy. Cameron achieved a Bachelor of Music Education degree with honors in piano and voice from the University of North Texas and a Master of Music Education degree with a concentration in choral conducting from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, Ill.

He enjoyed travel, shopping, exquisite food, and beautiful clothes. Cameron loved his dogs, Matilda, Riley, Daphne, Chandler and Lyla, as children and treated them as such. But his greatest love came from music and teaching with UIL-celebrated, award-winning show choirs, full production musicals in a middle school, and working with several ISDs, with Plano ISD the longest and last while in Texas. Cameron taught hundreds of students, children, teens and adults all over the country. He traveled extensively to judge and assist in UIL choral workshopping clinics all over the U.S. and was highly sought as a choral clinician.

Cameron was currently working as a successful private vocal studio (Singer By Distinction LLC), while also serving as the Senior Director of Worship, Music and Creative Arts and Spiritual Growth Coordinator at Noelridge Christian Church. He was the co-founder and Musical Director of Revival Theatre Company (RTC). Since his arrival from Dallas, Texas, he quickly gained a reputation for musical excellence in a multi-faceted career as an educator, performer, voice instructor and musical director.

Cameron had been affiliated with numerous recording projects, national broadcasts and musical theater productions as a performer, professional musician, and director. As a Musical Director here in Cedar Rapids, he has collaborated with Orchestra Iowa, Theatre Cedar Rapids (TCR), and worked in the Cedar Rapids Public Schools as a choral director. He taught hundreds of students during his tenure here in the Eastern Iowa Corridor. He was an excellent signer, accompanist, adjudicator, musical director, and choral clinician.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to the family, care of Dr. Steven Craig: 708 12th Ave., Fulton, IL 61252.
