Kathryn A. Krebs

Kathryn A. Krebs, 75, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022. A fighter until the very end, Kathryn never lost heart during her long battle with Parkinson’s Disease, which ultimately took her life.
Kathryn was born November 25, 1946 in Dover, Ohio, to Wilbur D. and Elreta K. (Sergent) Hootman.
Kathryn loved her family and God dearly. She was a proud daughter, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had an infectious laugh, a wonderful sense of humor and loving heart.
Kathryn was hairdresser throughout her life, working at several area salons before opening one in her own home. She loved to play tennis and dance. Kathryn enjoyed spending time at the beach and being near water. She adored wildlife and was fascinated by Nature, which she believed was God’s Creation. Kathryn was a devoted Christian. She loved Jesus and she enjoyed sharing her joy and faith with others.
Kathryn is survived by her son, James “Jim” (Jody) Krebs of Lynn Haven, Florida; two brothers, Phillip (Valerie) Hootman and Larry (Ellen) Hootman of New Philadelphia; five grandchildren, Dylan Wagner, Jordan Drescher, Taylor Krebs, Adrianna (Jared) Swearingen and Alex Krebs; two great-grandchildren, Henson Swearingen and Sophia Rose and her best friend, Sis (Jim) Swisher.
In addition to her parents, Kathryn is preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Krebs and a brother, Sam Hootman.
In keeping with her wishes, Kathryn is to be cremated through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and a private, seaside service will take place in Florida at a later date.
