Michael H Sladek, 67, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2022, at UIHC following a sudden illness.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City, with Pastor Christopher Thomas officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. Casual attire is requested. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Michael Sladek Memorial Fund.

Michael was born April 2, 1955, in Iowa City, the son of Paul and JoAnna (Lucky) Sladek. He was a graduate of Lone Tree High School. On December 23, 1983,` Michael married Teresa Lehman.

Michael was part of the Sladek Family Farms, until his retirement in 2020.

He was an avid outdoorsman and found much happiness when close to nature.

Michael is survived by his wife, Teresa; his siblings, LaDonna (Ron) Brown of Arizona, Beckie Sladek of North Liberty and Sara (Michael) Hughes of Hills; eight nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Chris (Brenda) Lehman of Arizona; and Liz, his beloved Chesapeake Bay Retriever.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his dear friend, Bill Hicks.
