Jeanne L. Elliott

Jeanne L. Elliott, 85, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully in the arms of her daughter into the arms of her heavenly Father on September 12, 2022, following a year-long period of declining health.

Born in Gallipolis, on March 27, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Clinton Tyler and Myrtle F. (Waugh) Mooney.

After completing her formal education at Gallia Academy High School, Jeanne married Charles Charlie” V. Elliott on October 9, 1954. She was welcomed into his family with open arms and she thought of them as her own. Together, they were blessed with the birth of their two daughters, Lisa J. and Crystal K.

Jeanne was employed at The Times Reporter in the composition department for more than 30 years until her retirement in 2001.

Jeanne was a faithful member of the First Church of God in New Philadelphia and the Women of the Church of God for numerous years. In her later years, Jeanne treasured vacations each September with her daughter, Lisa. Together, they explored wonderful destinations and created invaluable memories.

She will be forever cherished by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Alan Welch of New Philadelphia; her grandson, Chase L. Dummermuth of Orlando, Florida; son-in-law, Jim (Sherry) Dummermuth of New Philadelphia; her best friend, Pat (Tom) Wells; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carroll “Red” Elliott of New Philadelphia, Joyce (Greg Mantor) Browning of New Albany, James (Sharon) Elliott of Dover, Eleanor Elliott, and Jan (Tom) Duncan, both of Gallipolis; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jeanne was preceded in passing by her husband, Charlie?;? ?her ?daughter, Crystal K. Dummermuth; an infant brother, Charles Tyler Mooney; and numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Friday, September 16, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. A service celebrating Jeanne’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, September 17 beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Matt Roe officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.

For the past year, Jeanne received exceptional care from the team at Community Hospice; specifically, a special note of gratitude to Heather, Tasha, and Kristen for their patience, attention, care, and love to Jeanne.

In gratitude for their service, Jeanne’s family would request memorial contributions be directed to Community Hospice, 7?16 Commercial Ave. SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
