Thomas P. Conway
Thomas P. Conway, 78, of Springfield, IL died at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Regency. He was born February 26, 1944, in Springfield and adopted by Eugene and Marie Bartel Conway. He married Karen Bell on May 27, 1967 and she survives.
Also surviving are two children, William (Louise) Conway of Chatham and Shawn (Phillip) White of Springfield; three grandchildren, Taylor White, Alexis White and Christopher White.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a police officer for the City of Springfield and retired after 31 years of service. He served as Assistant Deputy Chief of Police, Deputy Police Chief of Investigations, Interim Police Chief and was a graduate of the National FBI Academy. He also worked as a security guard for the Illinois Secretary of State and retired after 19 years of service.
He was of the Catholic faith. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandkids.
Visitation: 5-7 pm, Monday, August 29, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
