Catherine Barrett

Catherine “Cait” Barrett nee McHugh, age 92, of Palatine, formerly of Achill Island, County Mayo, Ireland. Loving wife of the late Francis J. Barrett. Devoted mother to Patrick (Maggie), John C., Francis (Joan), Peter, Josephine (Diane Willow) and the late James. Cherished grandma and great-grandma to many. Loving sister to Peadar (Phil), and Jo (the late Joe). Preceded in death by her parents Patrick and Catherine McHugh, brothers Pakie and Sean (the late Bride). Aunt to many nieces and nephews in Ireland and England.

Catherine was a devoted respiratory therapist of Northwest Community Hospital for over 25 years and a tireless advocate for mental health.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Palatine Township Food Pantry at www.palatinetownship-il.gov or 847-358-6700 or your local food pantry. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, Catherine’s services will be held privately. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
