Julie A. Murphy, 54, of New Philadelphia, died unexpectedly on Sunday, August 14, 2022 in Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital at Dover.

Born November 20, 1967 in Framingham, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Donald L. Murphy and is survived by her mother, Norma L. (Sessa) Murphy, of the residence. Julie was a graduate of New Philadelphia High School and received her bachelor of Nursing from Malone University at Canton and had worked as a Registered Nurse for Cleveland Clinic-Union Hospital at Dover for over 30 years.

Julie loved traveling all over the world and visited various countries over the years. These included South Africa, Ireland and recently served as a nurse for a mission trip to a small island in the Indian Ocean. When she was not exploring the world, she would often travel throughout the United States or visit her “favorite place,” Yellowstone National Park. Julie also loved arts and crafts, horticulture, and her many pets that she cared for over the years and loved like they were her children.

In addition to her mother, Julie is survived by her two brothers, Shawn “Karen” Murphy of Dover, and Tim Murphy of New Philadelphia; her sister, Mary “Rich” Bird of Dover; her two best friends, Cynthia Lumpcik and Bonnie Warner both of New Philadelphia; five nieces, Amanda “Cory” Raber of Strasburg, Alesha Murphy of Canton, Maggie Murphy of Winfield, Kayla Murphy of North Canton and Megan Murphy of Kent; a great-niece, Valicia Murphy; two great-nephews, Jayden Murphy and Austin Murphy; her close cousin, Linda Sessa and her beloved pets, Skye and Bleu.

In addition to her father, Julie was preceded in death by her infant sister, Bonnie Murphy and her niece, Taylor Renee Bird.

The family will greet guests on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 4:30 to 6:30 PM in the Linn-Hert- Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia where a celebration of Julie’s life will begin at 6:30 PM with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Following the services and in keeping with Julie’s wishes, cremation will take place through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover.
