Edwin Keith
- May 17, 2022
Edwin Dale Keith, 86, of Chesapeake, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at his daughter’s home in Williamsburg, VA. He was born on July 27, 1935 in Fairmont, WV to the late Harry D. Keith and Margaret Pickering Keith. Edwin was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of fifty-four years, Shirley Love Keith, whom he met when they both worked at Standard Printing and Publishing in Huntington, WV. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Terri Keith of Peachtree Corners, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Bethany and Robb Marshall of Williamsburg, VA; daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Stan Rec of Las Vegas, NV; and four grandsons, Wyatt Marshall, Eli Marshall, Keith Rec, and Jordan Sadler.
Edwin was a proud graduate of Huntington High School and Ohio University, and honorably served in the United States Army during peacetime. His talents as a graphic designer took him to WV, NC, VA, and to Greenville, SC where Edwin and Shirley lived for over 20 years and raised their 3 children. Retirement brought them back to Chesapeake, OH, where they attended Chesapeake United Methodist Church, the church in which they were married.
Edwin was a lifelong lover of trains, both real and miniature. Through the years, he was an active member of several model railroad clubs and earned the title of NMRA Master Model Railroader.
He also enjoyed reading historical nonfiction, taking back roads everywhere, doing word search puzzles, watching Jeopardy, savoring a great meal, and treating himself to a McDonald’s sweet tea. He was a gentle, quiet man of faith who made a lasting impression on those blessed to know him.
A celebration of Edwin’s life will be held in Chesapeake, OH at a later date. Bucktrout Funeral Home is handling arrangements locally.
