Delores M. Sparks

Delores M. Sparks, 89, of Dover, passed away Monday, May 6, 2022 in Park Village Healthcare Center at Dover.
Born in Burning Springs, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Homer N. and Oleta M. (Culver) McCoy. Delores worked as a cook for the former Tuscarawas County Home at New Philadelphia and eventually retired from Case Farms after 20 years of employment. She attended the Churches of Christ in Christian Union at Newcomerstown and loved gardening, tending to her flowers and spending time with her family.
Delores is survived by her daughter, Alice Simmons of Dover; her son, Carl (Darlene) Sparks of New Philadelphia; seven grandchildren, Benjamin (April) Newsome, Amanda Douglas, Anna (Wyatt) Harmon, Carla Cantu, Tommy Sparks, Pamela Sparks and Kyle Simmons; numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Harry W. Sparks; her sister, Carolyn Briggs; two grandsons, Jason Briggs and Jerico Jones; her beloved dog, Spot; four sisters and a brother have also preceded her in death.
In keeping with her wishes, Delores is to be cremated through the care of the Geib Funeral Center at Dover and a private family memorial service will be conducted in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover with Pastor James Reed officiating.
