Craig DaValle

Craig DaValle

Craig DaValle passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 28, 2022, at the age of 67. His battle with cancer showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a positive attitude.

One in a million to his loving wife Ginny (nee Gentile); loving father of Brandon (Heather) and Dean (Kim); cherished brother of Bonnie Sutton, Cheryl Chunn, Sandy Weiland; dear brother-in-law and the ‘fun’ uncle to many nieces and nephews; treasured friend.

Craig was the owner of Artel Jewelers, a family owned business for over 100 years. And, like his father and grandfather before him he took great pride in gaining the trust of his customers. Kindness, respect and humor were his core values. Craig had charisma. He didn’t just become acquainted with people, he instantly became someone they didn’t forget.

Craig and Ginny met while working together at the jewelry store. They became soulmates for life. Family was everything to Craig and he loved being a father. He shared his enthusiasm for life unconditionally which is evident in the thoughtful, caring young men his sons are today. Craig couldn’t be more proud.

He was a lifelong Blackhawks fan, enjoyed walks on the beach, beautiful sunsets, riding his motorcycle, golf, hunting, snowmobiling, listening to Bob Marley and the Grateful Dead and smoking a good cigar around the fire pit.
Craig will be missed by many and remembered with fondness by all.

We are holding a visitation service on his birthday, April 5, 2022 to celebrate Craig’s beautiful and inspiring life.
