Nancy June Leggett
Nancy June Leggett, 86, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022, in her home, following a period of declining health.
Born in Brightwood, she was the daughter of the late Dennis Earl and Helen Daisy (Miller) Kohler. Nancy June loved being a homemaker and could often be found working in her garden and canning what she had grown, for her family. She loved being at her home in the country and enjoying all of the nature that surrounded her. Nancy June was also very talented when it came to sewing, especially little projects for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are her three children, Cherie (Mark) Adams of Pittsburgh, Don (Kelly) Leggett of Lancaster and Rod Leggett of New Philadelphia; her six siblings, Norman Kohler of Columbus, Doris “Jackie” Heid of Stone Creek, Patsy Swank, Sally Reichman, Kay DeMattio and Danny Kohler, all of New Philadelphia; six grandchildren, Jennifer Lara, Angela Barkes, Emily Chalfont, Sarah Adams, Jeremy Leggett and Jessica Leggett and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Nancy June is preceded in death by her sister, Velma Cochran, her brother, Jerry Kohler and her great-granddaughter, Rachel Lara.
In keeping with her wishes, Nancy June is to be cremated through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and a family celebration of Nancy June’s life will be held at a later date.
