John M. Snodsmith, M.D.

John M. Snodsmith, M.D., 77, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 25, 1944, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Elmer L. and Laura E. (Mitchell) Snodsmith.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda; two daughters, Leanne and Shannon; son, Willie (Brooke); three grandchildren, Gabrielle (Craig), Isabelle and Nora; two great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Catherine; sister, Sarah Weddell; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ralph and James.
John was a resident of Springfield since 1976. He was a parishioner at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. He was an undergrad at Carleton College in Northfield, MN and later, a medical student at Tulane University Medical School. John was a United States Navy veteran for two years, then a resident at Mayo Clinic. He belonged to the American College of Radiology and his beloved Korsakoff Society. John was a partner in Clinical Radiology for 37 years.
Visitation: 9 am – 10:15 am, Friday, March 4, 2022 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 am, Friday, March 4, 2022 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, with Reverend Peter Chineke officiating.
Burial will follow at Stout Cemetery in Chatham.
