John R. Willis
John R. Willis, age 79, of Inverness. Beloved husband to Nancy for 45 wonderful years. Devoted father to John Matthews, Nancy (Craig) Sullivan, and Carrie (Brad) Farmer. Cherished Pops to Abby, Tommy, Joey, Maddy, Chloe and the late infant, Willis. Dear brother to the late Russell (Chris) , and uncle to Russ (Kim) and Rob (Melinda) Willis and beloved great-uncle to Rusty, Ryan, Lucy and Clara.
John loved the University of Illinois and was a proud alum and member of Delta Chi fraternity. He was a long time trustee of the Village of Inverness. He was a proud member and past President of the one hundred nine year old Western Trade Association. Since 1979, John was a successful manufacturer’s representative. He was a born salesman who loved his work and never retired. John was a passionate private pilot for seventeen years, enjoyed playing golf, and vacationing with the love of his life.
A visitation will be held at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy, Palatine, IL 60067 on Monday, March 7, 2022 from 4:00-8:00pm. Friends are invited to meet at St. Francis de Sales Parish, 135 S Buesching Rd, Lake Zurich, IL 60047 on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 10:30 am for a funeral mass. Entombment at St. Michael The Archangel Cemetery, Palatine, IL 60067. Memorial donations would be appreciated to The NCH Foundation, https://www.nch.org/donate/ or St. Francis de Sales Parish.
