“Grieve not for I am with my heavenly father”
Daniel Roth Hansen, 95, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025. Born on February 15, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois. Daniel lived a long and purposeful life dedicated to faith, family, and service. As he passed, a peaceful smile came over his face-a testament to his unwavering faith and the grace that marked his life.
A devout Christian and longtime Deacon of Calvary Community Church, Daniel was well known and deeply loved by his family and community.
Daniel graduated from Taft High School in 1948, Wheaton College in 1952, and Loyola School of Medicine in 1958. He served his residency at Northwestern University Hospital and Veterans Administration Hospital before beginning his medical practice in Illinois and Wisconsin in 1960. For 38 years, until his retirement in 1998, he dedicated his life to serving others through his calling as a physician. His life is marked by the thousands of lives he brought into this world, bones he set, and surgeries he performed with skill and compassion. His desire to serve extended into every aspect of his life, where his love and care for his family was ever present. He did not seek material wealth or luxury, but instead put his family first in all things.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Roth Hansen and Mildred E. Schimke Hansen; his sons, Fred and Don Hansen; and his first wife, Marjorie Ludders Hansen (married September 15, 1955, died April 1, 1969).
Daniel is survived by his beloved wife, Frances Mae Koch Hansen (married 1970); his children, Daniel Hansen Jr., Connie Hansen Slyter (husband Dean), David Hansen (wife Leila), James Hansen (wife Carol), Thomas Hansen (wife Kay), and Debra Hansen Fairchild (husband Eric); his brother, Reverend James Harry Hansen; and many grandchildren who will cherish his memory.
On December 6, a Memorial Service will be held at Calvary Community Church at 11 A.M. followed by a luncheon at noon. N2620 Harris Rd, Lake Geneva, WI 53147.
Daniel’s legacy of faith, service, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Agape House of Walworth.
