Del Dougherty

Dougherty, “Del” Rose Delima (nee Roussin)

March 5, 1926 – October 23, 2025

Died peacefully on Thursday, October 23 at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital at the age of 99. Originally from Dauphin, Manitoba, Del arrived in Armstrong, Ontario in 1946. She and Manning Dougherty were married in 1950 and enjoyed many years together in Thunder Bay and Wasaga Beach. Del was the loving mother of Denis and his wife Helen, and the cherished grandmother of Patrick, Ryan and Shane. She is also survived by sister-in-law Arleigh Dougherty, and nieces Patti-Ann and Judy.

Del is remembered as a feisty woman who enjoyed knitting, baking, and tending to the beach at her home. She was an accomplished seamstress who appreciated a 5 p.m. rum and coke and always had a fire burning. Her spark will live on in those who knew her.

Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held in Armstrong at a later date.
