Georgie Mae Fitchue, 86, of Omaha, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025, at The Springs of Mt. Vista in Harrison, following a brief stay for rehabilitation.
She was born May 22, 1939, at Everton, to George and Cynthia Snow. On April 2, 1966, at Harrison, she married the love of her life, William Sherman Fitchue, and together they shared 51 wonderful years before his passing. Georgie worked for many years as a sewing machine operator at Levi Strauss in Harrison, where she took great pride in her work and formed many lasting friendships. A hard worker all her life, she also loved the simple joys of home — tending her garden, growing colorful flowers, and caring for her beloved pets. She found peace outdoors, working in her yard, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; and a sister.
Survivors include two sons, Bill Fitchue (fiancée, Vickie Brown) of Harrison and Bob Fitchue (Thais) of Omaha; two grandsons, Mason Fitchue of Omaha and Tanner Fitchue of Harrison; a brother, Glen Snow (Keko) of Las Vegas, Nevada; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
A private family graveside service will be held at Gass Cemetery, where she will be buried beside her husband. Arrangements are under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Holt Memorial Chapel.
