Daniel Mullane

Daniel J. Mullane, 93, of West Nyack, New York, passed away peacefully with his children by his side on October 20, 2025 at Harmony Village in Paramus, NJ.

Daniel (Bucky) was born on January 22,1932 in New York City to parents Michael and Christina (Ryan) Mullane. Both parents had immigrated to the NYC from Limerick City, Ireland.

Daniel grew up in NYC during the Great Depression. He was the 2nd eldest of 6 children. His fondest memories of that time included playing stickball on the streets of New York and hanging out on the “Stoop” located on the corner of 101st Street & Amsterdam Ave. At the age of 18 Daniel joined the Marine Corps and was deployed overseas during the Korean Conflict.

In November of 1955 he married the love of his life, Anna Calligy (Petsy) and enjoyed 63 years of marriage until her death in 2018.

During his lifetime, Daniel was proud to be a New York City Policeman for 20 years and then worked for National Distillers in NYC doing security work. He also was an active member of the American Legion & Elks.

He is survived by his five children: Christina (Sean) Carroll of Gulf Shores, AL; Patrick (Margaret) Mullane of Highland Mills, NY; Kathleen (Stephen) Sheridan of Valley Cottage, NY; Danny (Lisa) Mullane of Huntsville, AL and Anne (Michael) Skelly of Blauvelt, NY. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Stephen (Caroline) Sheridan, Thomas (Christina) Sheridan, Kelly Sheridan, Joseph Skelly, Maureen (Kevin) Neyer, Collin Mullane, Michael (Chelsea) Mullane, Daniel Mullane and Caitlyn (Matt) Meacham.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, October 27th at St. Anthony’s Church, 36 West Nyack Rd., Nanuet, NY. Entombment will immediately follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
