Harry Joseph “Joe” Jones, 77, of Ellenboro, WV, departed this life on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Belmont Healthcare Center in Belmont, WV, surrounded by his loving family.
Joe was born August 28, 1948, in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Harry A. and Gloris F. (McDonald) Jones. He was a proud graduate of Pennsboro High School with the class of 1967. Following high school, Joe was drafted into the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany as a mechanic during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Joe returned home and began his working career. His first job after the military was working as a mechanic for Mullen Motors of Parkersburg, WV. He then worked for Meredith Manor as a truck driver and mechanic before becoming the owner and operator of Ritchie Steel. Over the years, Joe purchased and resold various equipment while Ritchie Steel was active. As a kid, Joe worked in the oilfields alongside his brother and father. Joe was a perfectionist when it came to his work and with his home maintenance. He was always looking after his neighbors and cleaning up and maintaining Moats Road.
He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Charlotte Jean (Thomas) Jones; daughters, Shana Marie Gribble of Harrisville, WV and Leanna Jean Wright of Mineral Wells, WV; grandchildren, Riley, Alexis, and Reagan Gribble, all of Harrisville, WV; his brother, Mike Jones of Twin Oaks, WV; nieces, Melissa Griffin, Jennifer Reiter, Tracy Brown, Carla Goff; nephew, Michael Jones; 22 great nieces and nephews; lifelong friends, Ronald Hatfield, Jim Moneypenny, Pat Moneypenny, and many others, along with his K9 buddy, Rue.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Charlotte Marie (Barker) Jones in 2008.
Funeral services will be 11am, Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Raiguel Funeral Home in Harrisville, WV with his nephew, Michael Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery at Twin Oaks, WV. Visitation will take place from 4pm-8pm on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
