Nina L. Beaven, age 86 of Springville, TN, passed away Monday, October 13, 2025, at Jackson Madison Co. General Hospital. Her funeral service will be at McEvoy Funeral Home at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 17, 2025, with Father Martin Orjianioke of Holy Cross Catholic Church officiating. Visitation will be at McEvoy Funeral Home after 11:00 AM on Friday, prior to the service.
Nina L. Beaven was born June 12, 1939, in Benton Co., TN, to the late Tom and Elizabeth Ozment Offord. She married Joseph Kenneth Beaven on May 10, 1957, and he preceded her in death on January 10, 1997.
Nina graduated from Big Sandy High School. She worked at Salant & Salant and Plumley Corp. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Paris, where she did volunteer work. She made the best quilts this side of the Mississippi. She was a military wife and formed an NCO wives club at Bergstrom Air Force Base.
Ms. Beaven is survived by her sons: Joseph Beaven, Jr. of Springville, TN, and Larry (Jeannette) Beaven of Texas City, TX; sister, Margie Stockdale of Cleveland, OH; grandchildren: William Beaven, Brian Beaven, Vanessa Beaven, Lauren Beaven, and Michael Beaven; great-grandchildren: C.J. Benefiel, Jocelyn Benefiel, and Gracie Beaven; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Nina was also preceded in death by sisters: Irene Hawley and Annie Carlson; and brothers Howard Offord, Delbert Offord, Robert Offord, and William Offord.
Memorials for Ms. Beaven may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
