Matthew Donald Bryan, 71 of Jefferson City, Missouri passed away surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
Matthew was born on February 25, 1954 in Toledo, Ohio and was the son of the late Jack and JoAnn (Courtney) Bryan.
Matthew was a graduate of Sylvania High School in 1972, afterwards he went to Teterboro School of Aeronautics where he gained a License for Airframe and Power plant mechanical license as well as his Pilot license. He then went on to work for Epps Aviation and worked on Beechcraft in Atlanta, Georgia for twenty years.
Matthew was a man of many passions, known for his curiosity, energy, and enthusiasm for life. A longtime member of Epiphany Lutheran Church, his faith was a central part of who he was, and he deeply valued the fellowship and spiritual connection he found within his church community.
He was an avid fan of Walker, Texas Ranger, enjoying the action, values, and determination embodied by the show’s iconic hero. Outside the television screen, he had a love for adventure and the great outdoors. He spent many happy hours on the golf course, enjoying the camaraderie and quiet focus the game brought. Matthewound peace and wonder beneath the surface of the water, exploring marine life and underwater landscapes with joy. On land and in the air, he had a lifelong fascination with flight, often piloting drones and remote-controlled planes — a hobby that combined his love for technology with a childlike sense of wonder. At home, he shared his days with his beloved Cocker Spaniels, who were never far from his side. Their loyalty and companionship brought him great comfort and joy over the years.
Whether he was exploring the skies, diving deep into the sea, or spending a quiet morning at church, Matthew lived a life rich with purpose, play, and passion.
Matthew is survived by his Son; Eric Bryan (Amanda) of Atlanta, Georgia, Daughter; Alison DiGiovanii (Nick) of Atlanta, Georgia, Brother; Bradley Bryan, Sisters; Sandy Bryan, Susan Aasen, and many Nieces and Nephews
