Eddie Lee Edwards, Jr., 63, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 7:00 P.M. Friday, September 5, 2025, at his home. He was born April 27, 1962, in Chicago, IL, the son of Eddie Lee and Sheila Rae (Land) Edwards Sr. His mother, Sheila, survives in Hoopeston. He married Candy Burton on June 25, 2010, in Danville, IL, and she survives in Hoopeston.
He is also survived by his daughter, Lauryn Edwards of Glen Ellyn, IL; step-daughter, Jessica (Luke) Esteppe of Potomac, IL; two sisters, Misty Edwards of Hoopeston, IL and Kristi Edwards (Craig Blackwell) of Hoopeston, IL; two brothers, Al (Rochelle) Edwards of Danville, IL and Brian Edwards (Dawn Rogers) of Hoopeston; three sisters-in-law, Patty Maul of Hoopeston, IL, Sandy (Kenny) Grimes of Summerset, SD, and Patty Burton of Naples, FL; two granddaughters, Lydia and Paisyn Esteppe; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, BJ and Margie Morgeson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie, Sr.; his grandparents; his in-laws, Donna and Gene Burton; two brothers-in-law, Clay Burton and Marty Maul; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Eddie worked as a Union Laborer for Local 703 for 37 years until his retirement. He enjoyed playing golf, pool, and poker and watching westerns. Eddie also loved sports and was a fan of the Chicago Bears and Illini.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorials are suggested to Iroquois Memorial Hospice, 200 Laird Lane, Watseka, IL, 60970, as Eddie’s family is thankful for the care he received in his short time with IMH Hospice.
